Ministry News
Dr. Gene Grant, LBI ’59,
LCS ’65, celebrated the 50th anniversary of
his ordination at Heritage Community Church, Cincinnati, OH,
where he now serves as Pastor/Counselor. A
tribute to his ministry was delivered by Senior Pastor, Karen
Helton, entitled “A Servant of the Lord.”
His wife of 51 years, Florence (Guy),
LBI, was also honored. They have
served in churches in Illinois, Georgia, Florida, and Ohio. They have one son, Gene Grant II, and five
grandchildren.
Mark, LCS ’85, and Lisa,
LCC, Andrews have joined the staff of Christian Encounter
Ministries in Grass Valley, CA. Mark
serves as the Minister of Discipleship/Interns, and Lisa serves
as the ministry’s bookkeeper.
Christian Encounter ministries is a non-profit,
non-denominational, residential program helping 16-25 year olds
by providing love, spiritual guidance, high school education,
counseling, and supervision.

David Johnson,
LCS ’95, will be serving as Tour
Hostfor the Alaska Sawyer Glacier Cruise, July 24 - July 31,
2009. He invites friends and alumni to
join him on this cruise which departs Seattle, WA on Friday, July
24, 2009, and returns to Seattle on Friday, July 31.

Ray, LCC ’08, and Kent David
Leesman were married September 22, 2007 at the Chapel of the
Templed Trees in Funks Grove, McLean, IL.
Allyson graduated from LCC in May, 2008, and Kent works in the
marketing division of Caterpillar, Inc.
The couple resides in Emden, IL.
Erin Pruitt, LCC
’03, and Jeremiah Barraclough, LCC,
were married on April 12, 2008. They
reside in Sierra Vista, AZ, where Jeremiah serves as associate
minister with the Chrisman Christian Church.

’04, and wife Ashleigh (Ray), LCC ’05,
announce the birth of Arrington Jade, born August
22, 2007. Ashleigh recently completed her
Master in Teaching from Greenville College.

Deaths
Anna Lee Pool, better known
to thousands of alumni as “Mom Pool,” passed away in
her home in Oblong, IL, on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the age of
93. She was a dorm mom at Lincoln
Christian College for more than 25 years.
Lynn Laughlin officiated at her memorial service.
She is survived by a son Larry and his wife Linda; a
son-in-law Walter Jones; a daughter Peggy Ann, six grandchildren,
and 15 great grandchildren. Memorial gifts
have been designated to Lincoln Christian College and
Seminary.
Ron Butler, LBI ’60, LCS
’80, passed away on May 14, 2008, in Cape Town, South
Africa following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was 71. He is survived by his wife Carolyn and two
children, Suellen Butler Shay and Greg Butler.
A third child, Jeffrey Scott Butler, was killed in
Northern Kenya in 1993 by Somali dissidents.
Ron and Carolyn have been long-time missionaries in
Africa, originally in the Congo and more recently in South
Africa. Services were held in Cape Town
and stateside at Lincoln Christian Church, Lincoln, IL. Carolyn will continue to reside in South
Africa.
R. Steven Szoke, Jr., LCC
’98, passed away on May 27, 2008, following a battle
with cancer. Steve is survived by his wife
Candy, daughter Jada (age 7), and parents Robert, LCC
’73 and Lorraine Szoke, LCC ’74.
Steve’s former ministries were with Cross
Point Christian Church in Sugar Grove, IL; Town & Country
Christian Church in Crown Point, IN; Maple Lawn Christian Church
in Joliet, IL; Christian Church of LaHarpe, IL; and Impact
Christian Church of Merrillville, IN.
Steve was the founder, professional wrestler, and promoter of
FirePro Wresting of Merrillville, IN, and was a fixture of the
pro-wrestling scene throughout Indiana and Illinois.
Funeral services were held on May 31, with Lance
Hurley officiating.
Connie (Yocom) Bisenthal,
LCC, passed from this life on March 20, 2008.
She is survived by her husband Dale, who resides in
New Berlin, IL.
Roy F. Lincoln, LBI, passed
away on April 3, 2008, in Webb City, MO.
His wife Patricia survives, along with two daughters, Susan
Warden and Sylvia Klor, and seven grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Roy and Pat lived in
the Joplin area for over 30 years where he served as elder and
teacher with the College Heights Christian Church in Joplin,
Mo.
Mike Kirk, LCC ’77,
passed away March 25, 2008, following lengthy health
struggles. His wife Reta,
LCC, survives along with three children, David, Nichole, and
Ashlee. The family continues to reside in
Fenton, MO.

Rebecca White (LCC ’03) reports that she completed her Master of Divinity at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in December, 2007. She serves as Assistant Registrar for Graduate Studies at Trinity International University. In January, 2008, she began work on a Ph.D. in Theological Studies with a concentration in Old Testament.
Delor (LBI) and Sonja (LCC) Beaulieu recently retired from Moscow Mills Christian Church, Moscow Mills, MO, after 15 years. Delor has served in ministry for over 50 years, including 32 years at Dieterich (IL) Christian Church.
Richard Sprague, LCC ’61, reports that he is available for supply preaching or an interim ministry that would be within reasonable driving distance of Kempton, Indiana. He continues to publish “Friends and Neighbors Quarterly
Sundown (Hardt) Gulliver (LCC ’97) and her husband Bill are living and ministering in Taichung, Taiwan.
Steven Woods (LCC ’92, LCS ’98) and wife Michelle (LCC ’94) continue to reside in Boise, Idaho with their two children, Mitchell, 13, and Mackenzie, 9. Michelle is an HR Benefits consultant for SupereValue Corporation. Steve serves as Chairman of the Board of the Intermountain Church Planters Association and continues to consult the evangelical campus ministries at Boise State University, where he serves as Associate University Registrar.
Michael Painter (LCC ’61) and wife Mary report that they are ministering with the Alder Street Baptist Church in Centralia, Washington. They are celebrating 46 years of marriage and have three children and eight grandchildren.
Tyler Nobis (LCC ’07) recently became the campus minister at Campus Christian Fellowship, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Missouri.
Mike (LCS ’96) and Kari (LCS ’00) MacKenzie, are “fellows in training” at Marble Retreat, Marble, Colorado. Both are professional counselors working toward their doctorate degrees. They are particularly interested in pastoral care.
Juliet (Grundhofer) Yera (LCC ’02) reports she and her husband recently moved to New York to pursue her husband Rocky’s career as a jazz musician and to begin a new position for herself with “Hope” of New York as a Volunteer Coordinator. Hope provides volunteers from local churches to assist Christian not-for-profit ministries.
Larry Harden (LCC ’68) reports he is ministering with a Christian Church in Lake Park, Georgia. He began with six people, all senior citizens, in June 2005, and the congregation has grown to more than 40. He also reports he was recently married to Madeline (Dasher) and they reside in Valdosta, Georgia.

Charles (LCC ’64) and Carol (LBI ’60) Kelley celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 25, 2007. They were honored at an open house celebration at First Christian Church in Sullivan, Indiana. The Kelleys reside in Sullivan.
Karen Provart (LCS ’05) has recently accepted the position of Access Center/Adult Outpatient Therapist at the Mental Health Centers of Central Illinois in their Logan-Mason County office located in Lincoln, Illinois.
Patti (Gossett) Chafien, LCC, graduated from Lakeview College of Nursing in Danville, Illinois, with a BSN degree. She is employed with St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, where she serves in the heart department.
Tim Schultz (LCC ’06) announces his marriage to Samantha Kelsey, November 10, 2007. The couple resides in Huntington, Indiana.
Mandy (Wagner) Cawby (LCC ’02) announces her marriage to Don Cawby on December 31, 2007. Don is the Director of Administration for the State of Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission. Mandy serves the Kansas Health Policy Authority. The couple resides in Topeka, Kansas.
Alma (Knight) Shireman (LCC ’88) reports she recently achieved the designation of Health Care Anti-Fraud Associate through American Health Insurance Plans, a national organization representing health insurance companies. Alma resides in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Jamie (Elliott) Russell (LCC ’02) announces her marriage to Stanley Russell on October 20, 2007. The couple resides in Roswell, New Mexico, where Jamie is the manager of the Roswell Symphony Orchestra. Stanley works for Forrest Tire Company.
Chris Bova (LCC ’04) reports he is senior head maintenance technician at Northwest University in the state of Washington. Chris and his wife Carol reside in Kirkland, Washington.

Susan (Snyder) (LCC ’01) and Brandon Moore (LCC ’00, LCS ’04) announce the birth of their first child, Titus Elijah Moore, born September 21, 2007, while Brandon was home on leave from Iraq. The family is stationed out of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
Jonathan (LCC ’04) and Keisha (LCC ’02) Hill announce the birth of their second daughter, Abigail Elise, born February 19, 2008. Abigail joins her 3-year old sister Prisca Charis. The family resides in Columbia, South Carolina.
Tricia (LCC ’96) and David Selvage report that they have a one-year old son, Lucas Alexander. The family resides in Eaton Rapids, Michigan.
David and Kristin Jarrett (LCC ‘02) announce the birth of Kinsey Grace, born November 6, 2007. Kinsey has one big brother, Jackson, age 2. David and Kristin minister with the First Christian Church in Salem, Illinois.
Sue (Harker) Bondurant (LCC ’87) and husband Steve announce their second son, Seth Arden, was born on March 5, 2007. The Harkers reside in Indianapolis.
Casey Hancock (LCC ’95) and wife Teri announce the birth of Jesse Hancock, born October 12, 2007. Jesse joins one sister and one brother. The family resides in Cincinnati, OH, where Casey serves with the Christian Missionary Fellowship.
Deaths
Word has been received that Marilyn (Eskew) Gass (LCC) passed from this life on April 17, 2006. She was married to David L. Gass, and they were residing in Rantoul, Illinois, at the time of her death.
Levi Wands, infant son of Mike (LCC ’95, LCS) and Carrie (Coverstone) Wands (LCC ’99), passed away on January 16, 2008, following heart surgery and other health issues. Mike, Connie, and other siblings reside in Potosi, MO, where Mike and Carrie serve with the Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
William (Bill) Farwell (LCS) passed from this life on October 21, 2007, in Lincoln, Illinois, where he resided with his wife Beth (Tanner) Farwell(LCC ’69). Bill endured a seven month battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, four children, and three grandchildren. Bill was born in Long Beach, CA, attended Pacific Christian College, and moved to Lincoln in 1967 to attend Lincoln Christian Seminary. Services were held at Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln with Dustin Fulton and Tom Ewald officiating.
Bob Florence (LCC ’64) passed from this life at his home in Springfield, Illinois, on November 27, 2007. He is survived by his wife Mary. Bob served for many years as administrator of Lewis Memorial Home in Springfield. Services were held at West Side Christian Church in Springfield.
Chauncey Lattimer, Sr.
(LBI ’58) age 79, went to be with the Lord as a result of a motor vehicle accident on October 3, 2007. Chauncey and his wife Beryl had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 16, 2007. He is survived by his wife, his five children, nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. His son Chauncey, Jr., (LCC ’75) who serves as minister at the Martinton Church of Christ, Martinton, IL, officiated at the memorial service, and each of Chauncey, Sr.’s daughters brought a tribute to their father.
J. Larry Schnautz (LBI ’51) passed away October 24, 2007 . He was known in his community and particularly in the southern Illinois churches for his preaching, revival meetings, song leading, saxophone playing, and serving for years as camp faculty. His memorial service was described as a grand reunion of his Christian peers and friends who came from all directions to celebrate his life and ministry.

Kari Otto, LCC ’07, is serving as youth minister at Oakland (Illinois) Christian Church. Her first ministry with youth was at the Ramsey (Illinois) Christian Church from 2002-2006, followed by a youth ministry internship at Smyser Christian Church, Gays, Illinois.
Stan Killebrew, LCC ’97, and wife Dawn (McDonald), LCC, recently reported their move in ministry from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, where they had served for 5 years, to Northview Christian Life Church in Carmel, Indiana. Stan will be serving in the role of Teaching Pastor.
Dennis Bennett, LCC ’00, recently celebrated his 7th year of ministry. He and his wife Carol serve with Grandview Christian Church in Kansas City, Kansas, where Dennis is preaching minister.
Charles Embree, LBI ’57, reports that although “retired” since 2000, he continues to lead revivals, fill pulpits, and serve in other interim ministries. Yet, the greatest news is that a Bible study that began in their home in August, 2007, has now resulted in a new church, Son-Rise Christian Church in Marshfield, Missouri. They are averaging 90 in their morning worship, and are seeking land on which to build.
Ron Kelley, LCC ’72, LCS ’76, and his wife Sheila completed their 16th short-term mission trip to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Greece. They also celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on August, 2007. The Kelleys will winter in Sarasota, where they serve with the Sun-N-Fun Community Church.
Lyman Veach, LCC, celebrated the 40th anniversary of his ordination on October 14, 2007. He and his wife Loretta reside in Bloomington, Illinois.

Scott Allen, LCC, reports he received a BS in Elementary Education from Calumet College of St. Joseph. He graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 and was valedictorian of his class of 454 students. Scott is a third grade teacher at Nathan Hale Elementary School in Whiting, Indiana. He actively serves at New Life Christian Church in Whiting, where his father, the late Robert M. Allen, ministered for twenty-four years.
Stan Hicks, LCC ’68, is retiring from ministry after serving 21 years at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Monrovia, Indiana. He and his wife Loretta celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 25, 2007. The Good Twins, Dwight and Dwayne, LBI ’58, were part of a special celebration in their honor.
Sarah (Anders) DeNeal, LCC ’00, reports she married Brian DeNeal on June 14, 2007. The couple resides in Noblesville, Indiana.
Andy Pierce, LCC ’02, reports he married Julie Savage in June, 2007. They were married at Rock River Christian Camp, Polo, Illinois. Their plans are to serve in the Solomon Islands, Julie as a translator and Andy in finance and logistics.
Mark Schaeufele, LCC ’00, announces he has earned the M.Div. degree from the Assemblies of
God Theological Seminary. He and his wife Tina, LCC ’00, minister with New Life Assembly of God, Mt. Gilead, Ohio.
Mary Sue Laird, LCC ’00, reports she has accepted a position as kindergarten teacher at Donovan Elementary School in Donovan, IL. Mary Sue resides in Watseka, Illinois.

Bill Carroll, LCC ’96, and his wife Rachel, announce the birth of their 2nd child, “Will,” born August 15, 2006. He joins a sister Natalie, age 4. Bill and Rachel serve with Community Christian Church in Naperville, where Bill serves as worship minister and Rachel works with children’s creative arts. They reside in Plainfield, Illinois.
Jesse, LCC ’02, and Angela (Wheat) Stoner, LCC ’04, announce the birth of a son, Ephraim Malachi, born October 14, 2006. The Stoner family resides in Portage, Indiana, where they serve with the Portage Christian Church.
Donnie, LCC ’00, and Amanda (Siddens) Bowman, LCC ’99, announce the birth of their third child, Jenna, born July 10, 2006. She joins sister Karissa, age 4, and brother Andrew, age 3. The Bowmans reside in Lincoln, where Amanda serves LCC in the accounting department and is women’s basketball coach.
Kent, LCC ’96, and Rachelle (Boatman) Anness, LCC ’95, announce the birth of Jordan Luke, born May 10, 2007. Jordan has two big sisters, Allison, age 8, and Mallory, age 5. The family resides in Indianapolis.
Jamie (Coleman) Brennan, LCC ’99, and husband Tim became foster parents in July, 2006, and have recently adopted a son, Austin, 10 years old, and a daughter, Alexis, 7 years old. The family resides in Lincoln.
Tara (Motley) McCann, LCC ’98, and husband Joe, announce the birth of their first child, Jordan Layne, born July 26, 2007. The family resides in Santa Ana, California.
Jeffrey and Emily (Hargrave) Lemay, LCC ’03, announce the birth of Aidan Jeffrey, born July 16, 2007. Aidan’s great grandfather, the late Donald Hargrave, was in the first graduating class of LBI in 1944. His great grandmother, Nita Hargrave of Malden, Missouri, was the first woman to graduate a year later. Aiden has many other relatives who have attended and graduated from LCCS, including aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Joshua Harvey, LCC student, and wife Shoshannah, LCC ’07, announce the birth of Brayden Jackson, born April 15, 2007. The family resides in Lincoln, where Josh is in his senior year as an LCC student.
Jason, LCC, and Aimee, LCC ’04, Crowe welcomed Gabriella Mae, born March 17, 2007. The family resides in Lincoln.
DEATHS
Kenneth Macormic, LCC ’84, passed away September 18, 2007 at the age of 59 in Salina, Kansas, where he was senior pastor at Salina Heights Christian Church. His wife Theresa survives and continues to reside in Salina.
Chauncy A. Lattimer, Sr., LBI ’58, was killed in an automobile accident on October 3, 2007, in Louisville, Kentucky. His wife Beryl was also involved in the accident and at the time of this writing was still hospitalized.
Eleanor (Reinhart) Sprague, LBI, wife of Richard Sprague, LCC ’61, passed from this life on August 7, 2007. Services were held at the Kempton (Indiana) Christian Church. Richard and Eleanor were married 51 years, and served in ministry together that same amount of time. Twenty-seven of those years were spent ministering with IDES (International Disaster Emergency Services) located in Kempton, Indiana.
Dale Baldwin, LCC ’73, passed away suddenly August 9, 2007 at the age of 66 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, where he was serving as associate minister at the New Hope Christian Church. His wife Cheryl survives and continues to reside in Crawfordsville.
David Taylor, LBI ’59, died suddenly of a heart attack on August 14, 2007, in Olathe, Kansas, where he served the South Woods Christian Church as associate minister. He was 72. David is survived by his wife Delores, LBI, a son Dan, LCC ’83, and a daughter Deanne, LCC. David planted several churches in the Chicago area. His ashes were scattered over Rock River Camp, Polo, Illinois, where he served many terms as dean and counselor.

Stuart, LBI ’61, and Linda Couve, LCC, announce their retirement from ministry with Broadway Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky, after sixteen years of ministry there where Stuart served as Senior Adults’ Minister. Totally, they concluded 48 years in ministry. Stuart and Linda look forward to moving to the Peoria, Illinois, area in July.
Greg Taylor, LCC ’91, LCS ’03, resigned his position as Director of College Admissions at LincolnChristianCollege to accept the senior minister position at First Christian Church in Clinton, Illinois in October, 2006. Greg and his wife Marla, LCC ’92, reside in nearby Chestnut, Illinois.
U.S. Army Chaplain Brandon Moore, LCC ’00, LCS ’04, is stationed at CampTaji, north of Baghdad. He is scheduled to be there until April, 2008. Just a few days after his departure, his wife Susan, LCC ’01, learned that they are expecting our first child. Please pray that his two weeks of vacation in September will coincide with the birth of their baby.
Dennis Young, LCS ’82, celebrated his 30th anniversary of his ordination to Christian ministry in June, 2006. He concluded duty as US Coast Guard District Seven Chaplain in Miami to become Deputy Chaplain of the Coast Guard in Washington, DC, effective July, 2006. He and his wife Patti, LCC, reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Tony Venturella, LCS, has joined the faculty of MidAmericaNazareneUniversity in Olathe, Kansas. He is teaching New Testament studies. In addition to being lead church planter for Mission Ranch, he is also continuing graduate studies at the University of Kansas. He and his wife Gayle reside in Olathe, Kansas.
Nicole (Pujalte) Sweeney, LCS ’00, recently began a new position with Fuller Theological Seminary as Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical Coordinator in the School of Psychology. Additionally, she was married to John Sweeney on June 24, 2006, and the couple resides in Pasadena, California.
Timothy McCain, LCC ’03, is serving as senior pastor at Morenci First Assembly of God in Morenci, Arizona. His wife Tracy and son Keaton serve with him there.
Danai Chowwiwat, LCS ’92, has finished schooling at HamlineUniversity and has received his doctorate in education. He has returned to Thailand to minister in Thailand and beyond. Prior to his departure, he led the Hmong congregation at Halle, Wisconsin.
Phillip and Margaret (Cook) Ho, LCS ’06, announce 40 years of marriage and missionary work, served together in northeast India with the KhasiHillsChristianMinistries.
Sally (Neisler) Miller, LCC ’77, celebrated her 30th year in June, 2007, as Office Manager and Executive Assistant for the West Side Christian Church, Springfield, Illinois. Sally and her husband Dale reside in Witt, Illinois.
Don, LCC ’68, and Saundra Hensley, LCC ’66, announce their retirement after 41 years of ministry in Sweetwater, Illinois, Richland Center, Wisconsin, Cherokee and Carroll, Iowa, and most recently with the Smithville Christian Church in Bloomington, Indiana, where they served for the last twelve years. Cindy Bingamon, LCC, announces she has been serving as Administrative Assistant to the President of St. Louis Christian College. Effective June 1, 2007, she was named Registrar at SLCC.
A retirement ceremony was recently held for Bruce Martin, LCC ’69; LCS ’73, for his 29 years of service as a U.S. Navy Chaplain. Over this time, Bruce served in most communities available to a Navy Chaplain, including a surface ship, training command, naval stations, air stations, overseas assignments, Seabees, submarines, and the Marine Corps. He and his wife Judy, LCC ’69, plan to remain in Gales Ferry, CT, while Judy continues to work at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London.
David Williams, LCC ’86, reports he received the MA in Conflict Management Board Certified Crisis Chaplain from the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and is a certified instructor for International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. He is also a contract Corporate Chaplain for Hilmar Cheese Company and a contract chaplain for Turlock Police Department, Turlock, CA. He resides in Turlock, California.
Charles Brainard, LCC ’85, was promoted to Sergeant Major (SGM) in January, 2005. He is currently assigned to the Army’s Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) at Fort Meade, Maryland. He observed his 20th year of service in October, 2006.
Mark Stephen Schaeufele, LCC ’99, received the Master of Divinity degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri, on May 5, 2007. Mark and his wife Tina, LCC ’00, reside in Huntsville, Arkansas.
Willard (Woody) Wilkinson, LCS ’92, received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri, on May 5, 2007. Woody is a professor at OzarkChristianCollege. He and his wife Rosalie reside in Webb City, Missouri.
Dr. Ron Kelley, LCC ’72, LCS ’76, and wife Sheila attended the National Prayer Breakfast on February 1, 2007, in Washington, DC, with President and Mrs. George W. Bush. Dr. Kelley ministers with the Sun-N-Fun Community Christian Church, Sarasota, Florida, and is President of Suncoast Evangelical Association. He does short-term summer missions trips with Missions United Kingdom, preaching for eight weeks each summer in England and Scotland.

S. C. Couch, LCC ’67, retired from his 10-year ministry with Eastside Christian Church, Lake Placid, Florida, on May 20, 2007. This also marked his 40th year of ministry since graduation from LCC in 1967. He and his wife Janet also celebrated 40 years of marriage on June 16, 2007. Greg Hunt, LCC ’96, and wife Jill (Peterson), LCC ’97, are engaged in a new church plant in El Paso, Texas. Their launch date was March 4, 2007. The family resides in El Paso, and they have three children, Ethan (8), Mara (5), and Reed (1).
Jana Troutman-Miller, LCC ’00, was married on August 4, 2006, to Randy Miller. Jana is the hospital chaplain for West AllisMemorialHospital in West Allis, WI. They live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Sandra (Grimes) Beattie, LCC ’60, celebrated more than 20 years of ministry with the Boulevard Christian Church, 19 years as office manager, and currently as administrative assistant. She and her husband Larry celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on April 9, 2006. They reside in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Christine Henes, LCC ’76, was recently featured in the Wisconsin Woman magazine on behalf of her work as a music therapist. Christine is the owner of SonshineMusicCenter in Madison, Wisconsin. Her practice includes wellness consultations and consultations for people with psychiatric or physical disabilities. Believing that “music orders behavior,” she has devoted 17 years in this work.
Jennifer (Difanis) Heath, LCC ’00, reports she has been serving the city of Urbana as a police officer for the last five years.
Charles, LBI ’50, and Lois (LBI) Johnson, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 17, 2007. Charlie and Lois, now retired, continue to live in Des Moines, Iowa, and touch the lives of the Rising Sun Church of Christ congregation.

Julie (List) Toland, LCC ’05, reports she is a grade school computer lab instructor. She and her husband Darcy celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary on March 11, 2007. They reside in Mason City, Illinois.
Jason Coleman, LCC ’04, announces he has nearly completed his MA in Education, concentrating on Special Education. He will be certified to teach special education in the State of Illinois, pre- kindergarten through grade twelve. Jason and his wife Vickie reside in Athens, Illinois.

Shannon graduated in October 2005 from ArgosyUniversity with an Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. She is a medical lab technician with Children’s Hospital in St. Paul.

DEATHS
John W. Barto, LCS, passed from this life on February 4, 2007, just four weeks following the death of his wife Martha, age 68. They had been married for 50 years. They served Church of Christ ministries in Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, and West Virginia. They are survived by four children.
Word has been received of the death of Merl E. Beagle, LCS ’80. He passed away January 27, 2007, at the age of 86. His wife survives and continues to reside in Langley, Washington.
E. Gean Davis, LBI ’51, pastor, evangelist, and educator, passed from this life on February 18, 2007. Gene did his graduate work at Butler School of Religion and received his doctorate from PacificStateUniversity. His first full-time ministry was at First Christian Church in Tuscola, Illinois. He concluded with 60 years of ministry. His wife Archalee (Bond) Davis, LBI ’51, survives and resides in Simi Valley, California.
Wanda (Tuley) Fields, LCC ’67, died March 7, 2007, following a lengthy illness. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in November, 1982. She is survived by one daughter Melody and a son Scott. She was residing in Peoria, Illinois, at the time of her death.
Robert Hodshire, LBI ’58, of Danville, Illinois, passed from this life suddenly on October 22, 2006 from a massive stroke. He was 76. His wife Ruth survives, along with one daughter and one son. Internment was in Jamestown, Indiana. He had preached full and part time for many years, most recently at the CoalBranchIndependentChurch.
Warren Hostetler, LBI ’51, passed from this life on March 30, 2007, at the age of 85. WarrenSouthern Michigan. He had been ill with Parkinson’s disease. He was residing in Mishawaka, Indiana, at the time of his passing. His wife of 60 years, Betty, survives. spent most of his adult life ministering to the churches in Northern Indiana and
Stephen Mark Keim, age 54, and son to alumni Fred, LCC ’99, and Phyllis Keim, passed away as a result of a single-car accident on March 18, 2007, near Bernal, Queretaro, Mexico. Stephen was serving as a missionary with the Mexican Missionary Organization of Christian Churches, a work he had pioneered in 1987.
Jerry Lacson, LCS ’69, from Kotagiri, S. India, passed from this life on January 25, 2007. He was 67. His wife Heather reports that visitors came from great distances to celebrate his life and the certainty of the Resurrection.
Shirley L. Prosise, LBI ’57, passed away November 12, 2006 in Salem, Illinois. She is survived by her husband Harvey, LBI, and six children. She was 75. Shirley and Harvey lived for many years in Rockford, Illinois. More recently they lived in Salem, Illinois. They had been married for 51 years.
